In Cuba's group, Poland defeated Germany, thus paving the way for the Caribbean island's qualification.

However, the Cuban players beat Argentina in five sets, thus ratifying their leadership in Pool D, despite the long trip to that South American country.

The Cuban team will play in Pool F in the finals, which will also include Italy and probably Russia.

The other group is made up of Argentina, Brazil and the best second team in the qualifier.
