The museum, inaugurated in July 2004, exhibits ten life-size sculptures of prominent Cuban personages.

Some of them are musicians Francisco Repilado (Compay Segundo), Benny Moré, Ignacio Villa (Bola de Nieve), Sindo Garay, Carlos Puebla and Polo Montañez.

Other sculptures were dedicated to famous local people, as well as to US novelist Ernest Hemingway.

The gallery also exhibits reproductions of Cuban animals, including birds that are native to Sierra Maestra, Cuba's highest mountain range.
